Petitenget beach is located in the Kerobokan village, North Kuta district, Badung regency. Localized mileage is approximately 15 km from Denpasar City and about 30 minutes if using a motor vehicle from Ngurah Rai Airport.

Petitenget beach is has beautiful coastal scenery which is breathtaking and the same coastline with Legian beach and Kuta beach. This beach has an exotic white sand with a high quantity of sunlight throughout the day. The waves in Petitenget beach is big enough suitable for surfing or other watersport activities

In contrast to Legian and Kuta beaches which are crowded by tourist, Petitenget beach is more quiet and peaceful. Moreover, in this beach is also a temple that sacred by locals. This temple is named Petitenget Temple that same as the name of the beach. This beach is tends crowded in the afternoon. Besides for surfing Petitenget beach can also be used by tourists to sunbathing, swimming or enjoy the panoramic of sunset.

Why is this beach called Petitenget? because the beach associated with myths of Petitenget temple that are at the edge of Petitenget beach. It is said that the area was once a haunted area before the temple was built. According to a story in the ancient times there was a sage named Dang Hyang Nirarta. Before proceeding journey to Uluwatu temple, Dang Hyang Nirarta stop the journey and meet to Batara Masceti, interrupted during talks visible silhouette bushes hiding and after being called out it turns Bhuta Ijo. Finally Bhuta Ijo was given mandated and magic to keep the crate pecanangan.

Then they made sacred building for worship and named Petitenget temple (Peti which is meaning crates and Tenget mean hauned ,so that translated means Petitenget that had understanding the "haunted crate"). Since that time because it is in an area of ​​the beach is also called Petitenget Beach in Bali.
